As a Payments Risk Analyst I on the Payments Risk team, you'll serve as the first line of defense against payments fraud across Coinbase. This team reviews escalated accounts, identifies fraud patterns, and strengthens the controls that protect millions of customers from chargebacks, ACH abuse, wire disputes, and account takeovers. You'll own end-to-end fraud investigations, surface insights that sharpen our detection logic, and drive process improvements that reduce risk exposure at scale.
What you'll do:
- Own detailed investigations of escalated customer accounts to identify and mitigate payments fraud risks, including chargebacks, ACH returns, wire disputes, and account takeovers.
- Analyze fraud trends and patterns in payment activities, delivering actionable insights to Payments Risk leadership that improve detection accuracy.
- Partner with the Payments Risk investigations team to provide feedback on rule performance and risk logic, strengthening our automated defenses.
- Drive process improvements by identifying workflow inefficiencies and recommending changes that reduce risk exposure and increase operational throughput.
- Support the development and documentation of review processes to scale operational efficiency as transaction volumes grow.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 1+ years of experience in payments risk, fraud analysis, or risk operations within financial services, fintech, or e-commerce, with demonstrated ownership of fraud case investigations.
- Hands-on experience with payments systems (ACH, wire, card networks) and fraud detection methodologies, including chargeback management and dispute resolution workflows.
- Proven investigative ability to identify fraud patterns, root causes, and systemic vulnerabilities from account-level data.
- Familiarity with blockchain analytics tools or cryptocurrency fraud trends (or demonstrated ability to ramp quickly in technical domains).
- Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Annual base salary range (excluding bonus):
₱664,350 — ₱664,350 PHP
