You will translate business requirements into high-quality technical solutions using a combination of declarative configuration and custom development. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, requiring strong technical judgment, attention to platform best practices, and the ability to work effectively across multiple business domains.
As an Engineer III, you will also influence engineering standards, improve system performance and reliability, and contribute to shared frameworks and best practices within the Business Systems engineering organization.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and support Salesforce solutions across sales, marketing, revenue, customer, and operational workflows
- Implement and enhance Salesforce functionality using standard configuration, Flows, Apex, Lightning Web Components, and platform automation
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, identify gaps, and deliver scalable, maintainable solutions
- Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems such as Marketo, ERP, billing, marketing, support, or analytics platforms
- Participate in technical design, backlog grooming, sprint planning, testing, code reviews, and production deployments
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation, data integrity, integrations, and system performance
- Contribute to documentation, UAT support, regression testing, and user enablement to improve adoption and platform reliability
- Ensure solutions adhere to Salesforce security, data governance, and platform best practices
- Leverage AI-powered engineering tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Agentforce, GitHub Copilot) to improve productivity, analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation—using sound judgment around security and accuracy
Responsibilities
- Technical Delivery: Translate complex business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions using declarative configuration and custom development
- System Design & Integration: Design and support integrations between Salesforce and downstream systems to ensure data consistency across business processes
- Engineering Excellence: Maintain high standards for code quality through modular design, test coverage, and adherence to shared patterns and CI/CD practices
- Platform Optimization: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical debt within existing Salesforce implementations
- Mentorship & Influence: Lead peer code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and help raise the overall engineering bar within the team
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience
- Strong experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, SOQL, and Salesforce APIs
- Experience building and supporting Salesforce automation and complex business workflows
- Experience integrating Salesforce with external enterprise systems
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD, version control, and Salesforce release management
- Strong understanding of Salesforce security, data governance, and implementation best practices
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
- Salesforce Platform Developer I or II certification required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working across multiple Salesforce clouds (Sales, Service, Experience, or Marketing)
- Familiarity with DevOps tooling such as Salesforce DX, Copado, Gearset, or Git-based workflows
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Visualforce
- Experience supporting UAT, regression testing, and business enablement
- Practical familiarity with AI-powered and agentic tools used to accelerate development and analysis
Success Measures
- In 3 months: Develop a strong understanding of MongoDB’s Salesforce architecture, key business processes, and stakeholder landscape
- In 6 months: Deliver meaningful enhancements across Salesforce, becoming a dependable contributor to core initiatives
